| Flowers on Fogo |
This week was great! But it went by SO fast. Time seems to keep speeding up. It is strange, the days are long, especially when it´s so hot. But then it seems as if in the blink of an eye the week is gone.
I didn´t realize that bouncy balls don´t exist here, until I gave some children bouncy balls this week. It was one of the funniest things I´ve seen. One little girl threw hers against the ground as hard as she could and before she knew what was going on, the ball had hit the ceiling, the floor, the wall, and then flew out of the house. She just sat there with a confused face. Haha but after figuring out how they worked the kids loved them.
This week, again, we taught so many less active and inactive members. We have been reading the Book of Mormon with them and I´ve seen so many hearts changing! People that haven´t been to church in years are coming back.
The Book of Mormon is true! It contains the word of God. It invites a power into our life. As Joseph Smith said, "A man would get nearer to God by abiding by it´s precepts than by any other book."
If you are not reading the Book of Mormon every day, I invite you to do so now. It will change your life! As it says in Ether 12:12, God will not do miracles in our life until after the trial of our faith. Reading in the Book of Mormon will strengthen your faith. Trust in the Lord. He will work miracles in your life! Just as I´m seeing miracles here in Cape Verde, he will work miracles in your life too.
Christ lives! I´m honored to have this opportunity to serve the Lord. I love you all. Thank you for your support! Hope you all are enjoying your last few weeks of summer.
