Family, Greenie, and the BOM

Oi Familia e Amigos!

This week has been great!  We started working with a family that we had been passing by every once in a while for the past month or so but they were never really progressing until this past week!  They are now working towards baptism.  Things started turning around when the mother said she was embarrassed that she couldn´t read so she had avoided talking with us.  It´s sad how many people can´t read here.  Especially when reading in the Book of Mormon is one of the most powerful ways to invite the spirit into our lives.  We explained that there´s a lot of people that can´t read and we´re here to help her prepare.  Now she´s super excited to talk to us! 

For two days we had Sister Bybee with us!  She´s from Layton and she just got to Cape Verde from the MTC this week!  It reminded me of my first couple days in Cabo Verde and made me realize how fast time has flown!

I love being a missionary.  It´s amazing to see people changing their lives as they come unto Christ.  There are a lot of less actives in our area, definitely more less active members than active members in our ward.  And we´ve started just passing by and reading the Book of Mormon with them and their lives are changing! 

 I know the Book of Mormon is true and has the power to change our lives if we will let it.  If you are not reading it every day I challenge you to do so now and I promise if you do you will see a difference in your life.
